A rare Murano decorative glass plate engraved by Franz Pelzel for S.A.L.I.R., designed inspired by the Art Nouveau drawings of Galileo Chini, made circa 1898-1900, for his ceramic works. Light blue glass, engraved at the wheel, on a metal stand. Excellent condition.

S.A.L.I.R. – Studio Arts Labor Industrie Riunite – was founded in 1923. It was specialized in glass engraving, sandblasting, enamel and engraving application of gold leaf. In 1927, the firm began cooperating with Balsamo Stella and Franz Pelzel who brought a strong influence from the Northern Europe and Bohemia. S.A.L.I.R. took part in the most important exhibitions in Italy and abroad and everywhere it received the highest recognition.
