Chinese Tang manner Sancai-glazed pottery statue of a horse standing on all four legs atop a rectangular base. The horse is decorated with bells and flowers. A traditional green saddle completes the look. Illegible impressed marks to the base, rest of signature.
Dimensions: 55cm high, width 59 cm
The Sancai technique dates back to the Tang dynasty (618–907 AD). Sancai sculptures remain one of the most admired and treasured art forms till this day. A beautiful piece. Highly collectible.
