Jugendstil Silverplate Vase Denmark, 1920s

Extremely rare, this Jugendstil vase is an exquisite example of the early 1900s works, remarkably realized by the renowned Danish manufacturer Carl M Cohr. This vase was made by using several techniques, made of silver plated metal, with its original glass vase inset. The metal body features an impressive floral décor frieze, hammered to the lower part, wheel cut décor to the glass rim. In excellent overall condition, some normal patina and wear accordingly to its age. Marked to the bottom with “Two towers” mark, N.S., later stamped with D.S. – the mark for the plating quality. Cohr used DS marking from 1931 on. The two towers mark was introduced in Denmark in 1921 and used between 1921 -1929 for the silver plated items.
Dimensions: height 35 cm, diameter 16 cm.
