WMF Ikora Cigarettes Box
Sophisticated squared box with hinged lid by WMF for Ikora Collection. Silver-plated Art Deco geometric shape, its interior is lined with cedar planks. A lovely black enamel banded motif adorns its top. A perfect piece to store keys or small objects and a lovely addition to any Art Deco lover’s collection.
This piece is engraved underside: WMF – Ikora – Germany.
Measurements: 4.32 in. wide (11 cm) x 3.94 in. deep (10 cm) x 2.38 in. high (6 cm).
Ikora is a production line of WMF realized in 1927 by its NKA – Neue Kunstgewerbliche Abteilung (New Art-Commercial Department) under the direction of Hugo Debach, collector and passionate of Asian Art. WMF realized under the mark Ikora Edelmetall a wide production of items in a geometric style inspired to Art Deco and Japanese Art in brass and nickel hand-decorated with enamel applied by fusion to the surface of the metal.
