About
Large and very rare ‘Old Nordic’ tub / jar by Michael Andersen. Made of terracotta cold hand painted in light shade of sky blue, with accents of gold. Richly decorated with encircled pattern in the form of Midgard worms. Rune stones inscriptions: ‘Reknar Lutbruk’ (Regnar Lodbrog) and his wife ‘Tura Burkarhiurd’ (Tora Borgarhjort). Two Dragon shaped handles, resting on three feet shaped as lion’s head. Stamped: Michael Andersen, “Eneret”.
In good used condition, with minor wear of time and wear, one of the handles shows previous restoration, yet in good overall condition.
Measures: Height 28 cm, diameter 48 cm (with handles).
